Tank Sizing & Engineering

At RPM Control, we specialize in single and double-wall containment units, horizontal tanks, commercial tanks, chemical feed stations, chemical day tanks, and IBC totes. Our engineering design team will work with you to create an industrial tank unique to your needs and application. We have the experience and capabilities to work with you to ensure your tank design considers every possible need.

Tank Sizes and Materials

Quality tank design and manufacturing are our priority, so we only use the best materials. For tank and tote development, we utilize High Density Polyethylene (HDLPE) and Cross Linked Polyethylene (XLPE) materials. These materials provide increased durability and lifespan for the tank or tote and will reduce the amount of maintenance needed in the long run. These materials are also essential in increasing the tank or tote’s heat resistance, tensile strength, and structural integrity, depending on the media stored and the environment of the container.

We know your tank needs are custom based on your budget, industry, facility space layout, media type, and final application. That’s why we offer our products in a range of sizes to meet your exact specifications.

Custom tank sizes we specialize in include:

  • Single Wall Tanks ranging from 22 – 18,800 gallons
  • Double Wall Tanks from 35 – 12,500 gallons
  • Cone Bottom Tanks from 15 – 13000 gallons
  • Open Top Tanks from 30 – 6900 gallons
  • Commercial Tanks from 65 – 20,000 gallons

Our Tank Design Process

When you work with RPM Control to create your custom tank or tote; we become your partner in the design and development process. Based on your tank needs, specifications, and design, we provide a quote upfront so there are no cost surprises later in the process. Our design engineering team takes into account the chemical being stored, the fitting schedule, the environment where the tank will be stored, and the ship to zip code so we can provide the most accurate cost and development schedule.

Once we are ready to start the process, our team provides a marked-up tank design drawing that requires customer approval before entering the production process. We follow ASTM D1998 industry standard specifications for our tank production processes to ensure quality manufacturing procedures.

We have the capability to customize your tank with specialized features including:

  • Seismic Restraints
  • Protective Shipping Wraps
  • Ladders with Attachment Kits
  • Hydrostatic Testing
  • Insulation with Heat Trace
  • Snyder Unitized Molded Outlets (SUMO)
  • Siphons
  • Bolted and Buckhead Fittings
  • Flange Adapters
  • Ultrasonic Level Sensors
  • Level Gauges
  • Secondary Containments Basins
  • Colors including Black, Opaque, Yellow, and Green

Apart from tanks, we also specialize in custom chemical feed stations and IBC totes. All our chemical feed stations come with overflow bins, pump shelves, and a protective wrap for shipping. We also provide chemical feed station stands that are 12 or 18 inches in height. All our products are subjected to quality inspection tests to ensure they meet industry standards and our customers’ expectations.
